Approximately one year ago my husband was talking with his co-worker, Angela Schrink, and she said that her husband Ryan Schrink was a personal trainer and had his own personal training business. That conversation led my husband to purchasing a training package for me for Christmas. I can say with absolute certainty that my life has been forever changed since meeting Ryan.

Here is my story… The day I met Ryan was a very emotional day to say the least. I will never forget how I felt when he did my assessment and asked my weight. I was in tears when I had to tell him how much I weighed – my son can attest to that. I have a small frame, am barely 5’2” and most of my life I have been a size 4 or 6. I gave birth to my sons late in life (mid 30’s) and my weight issues increased with each year that went by after that. Trying to be SUPERMOM had definitely caught up with me. I never made time for myself. I worked a stressful job, volunteered as PTA treasurer, band treasurer, boy scout merit badge counselor, did all of the housework, grocery shopping, laundry, taxied the kids to piano, violin, & guitar lessons, and attended boy scout meetings and monthly campouts (which paid off - I now have 2 Eagle Scouts), went on lots of weekend backpacking and hiking trips, marching band practice and competitions, etc. You get the picture! No time for me!

Ryan was very professional and very positive in his response to address my weight and nutrition goals. He developed a program to address my initial goal of losing 50 to 60 pounds. Within the first 7 months I lost 49 pounds and 34 inches! In the months following I lost another 6 pounds for a total of 55 while continuing to build muscle. My body fat has gone from 42% (yikes!) to 20%! I have gone from a size 12 to a size 4! I feel awesome! I love my muscles! My husband and some of my co-workers call me the “Workout Nazi” but I have since convinced my husband and a number of my co-workers to get fit as well.

My sons think the progress I have made is awesome! I am stronger now, both physically and mentally. At the dinner table our conversations have migrated from the nightly Calc and Physics topics (I have 3 engineering heads in the family) to “look how big this muscle is” or “look I have a new vein popping up”. All I know is that I absolutely agree with what Ryan conveyed to me in the beginning… Set YOUR goals; decide what YOU want (not what everyone else wants) and MAKE IT HAPPEN! My only regret is that I did not do this sooner!

Now I consider myself in what I call Phase 2 of my transformation. My goal now is to drop another 5% body fat and build more muscle. It will not be easy but I am up for the challenge! This is part of my life now. With Ryan’s training program, motivation and support and the support of my family and friends I am sure I will continue to meet my goals. I love being strong and fit! Strength is Power! Thank you Ryan for motivating and keeping me focused on the task at hand. You are an AWESOME trainer! Can’t wait to see what results the next few months bring!
